Join Dr Sonu Bhaskar for a conversation about day-to-day life as a clinician scientist, academic neurologist and innovator moving between Liverpool Hospital, the Ingham Institute and UNSW Sydney.

Do you know someone who is increasingly finding it difficult to remember recent events or has become lonely and isolated? These could be some early signs of dementia. Join in a conversation with Dr Sonu Bhaskar on early symptoms of dementia, its impact on people, carers and communities, and how can we build dementia friendly communities where people with dementia feel welcome and empowered to engage.

After the talk stay for an origami making craft session. Origami is the art of paper folding that has been in practice since the 1600s. It can help develop coordination and memory.

This free event is part of Inspiring Australia’s Talking Science library speaker series for Sydney Science Festival in National Science Week.

Location: Carnes Hill Library,  600 Kurrajong Rd, Carnes Hill NSW 2171

Bookings open 2 July.
